Our first days in Denmark

Our trip to Denmark started at 3 am on a Sunday night, when four students and two teachers stepped on a little buss and headed towards Oulu. It took us almost two hours to get to the airport. We flew from Oulu to our capital city Helsinki. We ate some breakfast at Helsinki, before we had our second flight to Riga, which is in Latvia. We didn't have much time there before our continuation flight to Billund, which is near the city that we are staying in.

We arrived in Denmark around at 1 pm local time. The headmistress drove us to the local school where our host families were waiting for us. We introduced ourselves to our new friends and everyone headed to their new temporary homes. We spent evening trying to get to know each other and relaxing after our long trip.

Next morning school started at 8 am. First we visited English lessons and talked with local students and they we're all really nice to us. After that the seminar started. First we watched this awesome clip from Danish tv-show called The Julekalender.

Then the mayor gave us a really nice welcoming speech. At the seminar there were student counselors talking about student counseling. The seminar was really interesting and entertaining.

After lunch break, we headed back to the seminar. First the danish students did their presentations of the 14 questions that they had asked from their local company.

Then we, the visitors presented our presentations. Presentations were all really different from each other. Our presentations went fine, even with little technical difficulties. After presentations we walked around the town for a while and then headed to our host families. At the evening teachers visited Koldinghus.

Today we arrived at the school and got some tasks to do and we have been doing those tasks for the whole day. Soon we will go to the local art museum!

Towards Denmark!!!

Denmark, only few days and our group is there!!! Really can't wait meeting the members from France, Italy, Germany and Denmark! :D The flying tickets have been done and travelling bags have almost packed so just ready to start ;)  

Image processing

Today our video- and logo group went to the art class to make their jobs. They had to further them. We were so good at handling that image processing! ;) Other group in the other class added information to their Denmark presentation. Below is a picture from the planning team when they were making the video and logo. :)

Young fair

In our school was young fair today and there was so much to do. We had really fun!! We saw for instance gymnastics and shooting. In the project we were talking about a perform that is showed by our visitors in Denmark. :)

DENMARK, 

WE ARE COMING!!!!!!! :DDDDDDD

Last week we chose four people who will go to Denmark on December! :DDD They are looking forward to getting there and now everyone is planning that meeting with members from other countries. We have so much to do before they leave Finland and go to see Danish culture. :) For example looking for more information 'bout soft skills and planning our alternative for the project logo... ;) 

                           

The visit in Junnikkala Oy :)

Yesterday we visited in Junnikkala Oy (sawmill) and it was so interesting to see how they worked there!:D 

First we made the guided tour with a Chinese employee. We saw how they made timbers from beginning to end and our guide told us facts about working in sawmill. We also saw painting operation and the biggest machine in European sawmills.  

After that one of the workers told us more about that company. We also asked him questions about Junnikkala´s company and international working life soft skills. :)

Planning, planning, planning...

 

After a loooong exam week we have gathered here again to plan our project! :) Everyone is a little tired but we have still a little energy to sacrifice for this project. Some of us are making a presentation video about our school and other groups are planning the logo for this project or looking for more information about Danish working soft skills. 

           Next week we are going to visit Junnikkala OY, the sawmill on Thursday in Kalajoki. We are waiting for that :)

Erasmus+ project starts now!!

In our first meetings we got a little information about this project. We got a task where we had to find a company that exports its products to Denmark and we found it!! We will discuss the details and plan the visit to the company. We also distributed tasks to different groups to find out a few things about Danish working life. Test week just started with maths test and thank God weekend will be right apart the corner! :))
